Printing Your Own Invitations & Announcements

{how to print your digital JPEG/PDF file}

Your digital JPEG file is formatted as any normal photograph taken with a digital camera. Simply download your file and save it to your computer, flash drive, or disk. From there you can take it to a local photo lab for printing or upload it to an online photo lab. Simply print the photo as you would any digital photo. Be sure to print as the appropriate size, otherwise parts of your card may be cut off.

To print your PDF file on cardstock, simply download the file and save to your computer, thumb drive, or disk. PDF files are used for printing on cardstock at a local print shop or at home.

*If you will be printing your card on cardstock using an online printer, we will need the full bleed card size and color profile from the printer. This information varies by company and can be found on their site.

{where to print your cards}

Photo paper cards can be printed at any local or online photo lab. Please research prices before ordering your cards, as one hour print prices can be more expensive. We recommend a 5x7 inch greeting, which can be printed for as little as .45 cents each at Costco, Sam’s Club, or Winkflash.com. We do not recommend printing at instant print kiosk machines, as the print quality is poor and the colors can be inaccurate. Colors can vary slightly according to each print machine. We recommend doing a single test print before printing the entire order of cards.

Cardstock cards can be printed at home, your local print shop, or using an online company. Staples, Office Max and Office Depot all offer printing services on cardstock using a laser printer. A laser printer will offer better quality than printing at home with an inkjet printer. Online companies such as VistaPrint.com, OvernightPrints.com and Mpix.com offer cover stock cards as well. We are not affiliated with any of these companies, nor do we endorse them. It is your responsibility to determine their pricing and file requirements as well as sizing specifications and file type BEFORE placing your order. Print sizes vary by company and may not fit a standard 4x6 or 5x7. We can accommodate other sizes at your request.

{envelopes: where to find them}
Envelopes are not included with your digital file. Check with your printer to see if they offer envelopes or they can be purchased separately at most office supply stores, craft stores, scrapbooking stores, or online.

4x6 inch cards= A4 envelope size
5x7 inch cards= A7 envelope size

{before you print: tips and other important info}
*All of our cards are embedded with an Adobe RGB color profile to ensure that colors print properly on calibrated machines. Due to differences in computer monitors, colors may print slightly different from their appearance on your screen. We are not responsible for color descrepancies or the print quality of other companies.

* A .25” margin is built into all of our designs to account for the cropping that naturally occurs during the print process. Cropping varies by print company and individual machine.

*By purchasing our digital Print Your Own option, the rights to your personal design are transferred to you. You do not own our original design or the artwork used on the design. The digital file is for personal use only and may not be claimed as your own.
